Sewing Room Remodel- Done!

January 22, 2011
Besides a few things I still want to put on the walls and things, the room is done! I painted, replaced the large computer desk for a small antique vanity table, recovered the vanity table, covered the light switches and trimmed my corkboard with modge podge, move my fabric into the open where it could inspire me, reorganized the notions, fabric, under table items, etc.

It is amazing how much stuff had worked its way into my room over the last year or so.

Here are some before/after pics:

I still want to upcycle an old chalkboard for wall art over the fabric in the corner, replace the rug on the stairs and recover my ironing board.

Fabric Lovers will understand…..

May 23, 2010

Only Fabric lovers could understand how I can describe the opening of a large box of fabric filled with bolts can be AMAZINGLY delicious!!  Its like  a painter opening a new box of paints, a jewelry maker getting a fresh shipment of beads, or a knitter/crocheter buying new bags full of yarn.   Yummmmmmy!!  Yummmmmy!!  Yummmmmy!!

Just wanted to share my high with all you fabric enthusiasts!!  Now to open, prewash and start using them all!!  LOVE LOVE

Ginger Blossom Quilt For a Friend

September 10, 2008
I finished a quilt today a good friend of mine had me make with the fabric she purchased. Just wanted to share.

It ended up being square which I wasnt planning on.. but it is huge, lol. And the back I couldnt do with one fabric or patch in 4 squares like we talked so it is a mismash of 3 prints. Seems to be a trend in quilting to piece the back like that..

I also pieced and made the binding for it

Few other things I have been working on and my new fabric cabinet:

Heather Bailey “Freshcut” Baby Crib Quilt!

February 7, 2008
Yay I finished the quilt!!! Can I say that I just about cried when I had to put it in the wash. It was so flat, ironed and pretty, lol.

I ended up just straight stitching in the ditch of the strips. And the binding is self made bias tape with my new 2″ (1″ when folded) bias tape maker, WHICH I LOVE!! LOL

It is 32″ x 48″ finished!  Made from the lovely Heather Bailey’s Freschut Fabric Line!  Just gorgeous!

Here it is on a bench and on her crib in her newly painted sage/mossy green room!!

The back

I am so proud.. and it makes this whole pregnancy so real!!  I just prewashed the rest of the fabric and hope to get the bumper pad and dust ruffle done in the next week!!

More sewn items for trade & baby girl!!

January 29, 2008
Here are a few of the last things in my pile of “to be sewn for the baby”. They are size 62 (3months) and are for the baby

Here is another Ottobre 4/05 modified playdress for a trade. Size 92. Bound the neckline instead of ribbing this time. Has these neat pleats in the front and back bodice.

Ottobre 1/05 I believe #22, omitted the zipper and opened the neckline so I didnt have to do the zipper Kumquat Helicopters in front, gray Cotton Lycra on back and sleeves.. and blaze orange on the shoulder insets. Also for a trade, size 122cm.

Thanks for looking! 😀
